FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Pittsburgh, PA – November 9, 2009 – At the third annual Pittsburgh Whiskey and Fine Spirits Festival, patrons can meet and talk with industry experts and taste some of the world’s very best whiskeys and spirits.
Experts on hand include renowned spirit specialists such as:
- Fred Booker Noe III, great grandson of Jim Beam, seventh generation distiller and Beam Family Ambassador. His picture is on the Jim Beam label.
- Bobby “G” Gleason, Master Mixologist and Guinness Book of World Records champion for the most cocktails made in one hour.
- Bernie Lubbers, Whiskey Professor, and expert on Knob Creek® and The Small Batch Bourbon Collection®. Former standup comedian.
- John Vickers-Smith, a Distillery Diplomat for Maker’s Mark handcrafted, small-batch bourbon whisky.
- Tish Harcus, Manager of the Canadian Club Brand Centre.
- Dan Tullio, Head of Canadian Club Brand Heritage and Ambassador for the brand.
- Jaime Salas, National Sauza® Ambassador and tequila expert.
- Ricky Crawford, representing Glenlivet, traveling from Scotland for the Festival.
These experts will be on hand at various tables and booths throughout the Festival to answer patron’s questions on spirits, from what to look for in tasting each one to serving suggestions. They will also be available for interviews by members of the media.
“Pittsburgh is very lucky to have a collection of experts as impressive as this,” according to Dale Markham, General Manager of the Pittsburgh Whiskey and Fine Spirits Festival, “These eight people are truly the royalty of the industry.”
The Festival will be held on November 13, 2009, at the Heinz Field West Club Lounge and can act as the perfect complement to a big football weekend at Heinz Field, as Pitt takes on Notre Dame on Saturday, and the Steelers take on Cincinnati on Sunday. In recognition of that, Maker’s Mark will even be offering black-and-gold-dipped shot glasses. Members of the Steelers have been invited, so there just may be even more special guests.
The Festival will welcome leading distillers from around the world, and provide guests with opportunities to sample an extensive array of scotches, single-malts, bourbons, whiskeys gins, vodkas, tequilas and rums. In addition, a wide variety of specialty cocktails – as well as food stations – will be featured.
